Sunday Concert: Gene Casey and The Lone Sharks In-Person
Emerging from the New York City punk scene, musician Gene Casey found a new home on Long Island's East End, where he formed the Lone Sharks. As "the house band of the Hamptons," they became a local legend, sharing the stage with rock and roll icons like Bo Diddley, The Band and Wanda Jackson. Casey's original music has been featured in TV shows and films, including Justified and The Killing Season.
His contributions to the Long Island music scene have been widely recognized. He and the Lone Sharks were inducted into the Dan's Papers "Best of the Best" Hall of Fame and he received the Long Island Sound Award from the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. He has continued to release new work, including the 2017 album Guitar in The Rain and the 2020 compilation album, Free Country: Essential Recordings.
