Birthday Wishes: Birthday-in-a-Box Program

In honor of the New York State Library Great Give Back program, East Meadow Public Library will be collecting supplies and wrapping boxes for Birthday Wishes of Hicksville.  Birthday Wishes provides a party box and birthday gifts to children staying in domestic violence safe shelters, hotels, and scattered sites so they are still able to celebrate their special day. 

Party Supply Drive will begin October 1 

Teens can earn 2 hours of community service for every bag of themed supplies they collect and bring to the library.  Supplies must be new and in unopened packages. 

• Ideas: Themed Plates and Napkins. Plastic Table Cover. Happy Birthday Banner. Party Hats. Candles. Check out the Birthday Wishes website (birthdaywishes.org) for more ideas and creative ways to donate. Supplies can be dropped off any time before October 25, or you may bring them with you if you register for the program on October 25. 

Birthday Wishes Box Packaging will take place on Saturday, October 25.

Teens can earn an additional 1 hour of community service for registering to pack and decorate birthday boxes. Please Register for only 1 Session

Late Arrival Policy: Programs begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Participants arriving more than five minutes late will forfeit their spot to individuals on the waitlist. If no one from the waitlist is present, late arrivals may be permitted to attend at the discretion of the program leader. 

No-Show Policy: Patrons who register for a program but fail to attend on more than three occasions may be placed on the waitlist for future programs. This policy ensures that program spaces are available to as many participants as possible.
