Picture Book Writing with Roseanne Frank In-Person
Picture books are magic, and they are our first love in literature. Do you have a story you want to tell? Join us as we discuss what goes into writing a picture book. Bring your work-in-progress. If you don’t have a work-in-progress, no worries! We’ll create new stories and learn from each other! We will go over characters, pacing, first lines, satisfying endings, pitches, voice, story arcs, illustrations, revisions & more. We will be reading current books as mentor texts. This class is interactive and participatory. Inspire the next generation of readers!
Roseanne Baxter Frank is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators and the social media coordinator for the Long Island chapter. She is a freelance editor and the author of picture books Alice in the Palace, The Witches’ Dance, middle grade novel Legacy & Legend, and upcoming picture book O’win & the Moon. She is also the new Editor of Acquisitions for Blue Whale Press.
